Cheese and Rice

It's... BLOGGING TIME!!! HUZAAHHHH!!! I've been accepted by Savannah College of Art and Design! I had plans on taking art classes at IWU over the summer, but turns out that there are none! Yep! I signed up for them, and now they don't exist. Anyway, I can still probably take some other kind of class like English or something boring and get it out of the way. I have to call SCAD first and make sure that the credits would be transferable. I'm not sure what else to do besides call admissions office, to ask about that and financial aid and housing. That's all I can think of, if you have any other ideas let me know.

thaaaaaats right

sooo....it might have been awhile since my last blog. Hopefully I can just make this one really long and acceptable as mabe 3 weeks worth. I'm not sure of what I talked about in my last blog. I'm just going to start, by going back in time, back to the months of flash animation work. I worked on this wizard cartoon for literally months. It probably shouldn't have taken me that long. It's finished now, and is currently being judged. Since then, i've been getting back into IMovie. I've been getting an urge to make a good movie. But, you can't really make movies by yourself and im still trien to recruit. Other than that, I was working on a video for the school band. I had a hard time trieng to imagine and create it into a movie that would be exciting to watch. After seeing a finished version by whom we do not know, I thought they did a pretty good job, considering what they had to work with. I have had my sister's lab top for awhile now, and I'm feeling more comfortable with mac's now. NOT SAYING ANYTHING LIKE "I LIKE MACS MORE THAN PC'S". I love my pc at home.

MITCHELL, what are you doin?

I went back today, and changed a few things in my animation. I took scene by scene and made them all into movie clips. This allowed me to have camera mobility. It made it more tense. Also, i tried to make the circles on the buildings look more like pegs that are part of the buildings. I added some shading on some parts. My goal is to finish it by the end of next week.

HAMMER TIME!

W0e only have 2 days of school this week. I know what youre thinkin, "oh! now he should have 20 drawings done by next week!". Well...that's not exactly how it goes. From here until the New Year, my work hours are gettin smacked down on my head. I don't know how all these people from marion can afford so many groceries. There were a few days I spent either trieng to find out why my animation had no sound all of a sudden, or trieng to find out how to get this cartoon onto a disk. I drew this really cool looking background. I can't find it now, along with ANY of my drawings. My sketchbook has gone missing. I hope and pray that it is at home somewhere. Zach says he wants to work on garage band, and he wants me to put it into my blog. I told him no and that I was not gonna waste my time talking about him in my blog.

whatever you want it to be

Yep...im "blogging" again. It's hard to think of what to write for these things. With my animations...nothin new happens too often. It takes FOREVER to finish them. So I can only say, "yep, im still working on it". For drawing, I just finished this one really awesome picture. Its of a realistic person. Its not an original character of mine, which would be nice, but it looks really good. I'm not sure what to do next, or if im really behind or anything. Am I where I should be at this time? I know you can always be better, but is it good enough yet? I think im just gonna try to keep drawing figures. Maybe now towards CREATING my own figures. I've tried it before, its pretty tough.

Dogs, and the people who feed them.

I dont know if you remember this or not...but there was a time when I wanted to start an action filled animation. It went bad at first and instead of trying to fix it, I decided to just start all the way over with a different story. This info may be in a previous blog. If you don't believe me, scroll up and quit being a jerk. The new animation I started is going pretty well. It IS taking a long time, as I expected but it might just be that I don't actually have much time to work on it. 40-45 min. may sound like enough, but I usually spend a few hours at home in a day. I also realize that proffesional animators spend MANY hours a day, almost every day, some times ALL NIGHT and day, making art. Notice, I didn't use the word "working". Mostly because its too fun to be work. At the rate im goin, I get one scene done almost every 2 days. I usually finish in one day, but on the second I go back through and add something or change something. I'm getting into the more actiony part of it. I don't know if it will go slower, because ill have to do a lot of redrawing the whole frame, or if it will go faster, since everythings moving so fast I might not have to draw everything very detailed. Also, on a different note...I died my hair black, have 4 earrings now, am in the process of fixing up an old accustic guitar, and find myself hanging out at beatniks listening to locals. goodbye.

End of the nine weeks

This grading period is over. I feel that i've accomplished a lot, but also think that I will still have to pick it up the next nine weeks. So far, I've done a lot of drawing focusing on characters. Drawing heads, eyes, ears, nose's, mouths, and just creating my own original characters. I've been workin on animations that have a lot of action in them. I find them more interesting, eye catching, and fun to do. They also take a lot of time because in almost every case, I have to redraw every frame. With my first action animation, I made my own song in garage band imported it into flash. It didn't really go that well, so I started over with the same song but different story line. It's going pretty well so far. I'm also working on one at home, the same kind of black and white scribbly style, about zombies, using an alternative rock song called "The Clincher" by Chevelle. Next nine weeks, I hope to draw even more. So that I can become good enough where I dont just have a few drawings here or there, but be able to draw what im picturing in my mind everytime. Also, Excel Awards are comming up and I really want to do well with that.
